A Wonderful Place...

These are just informal, unscientific, straw polls
to guage general reactions to the logging and measure the
level of awareness people may or may not have had about it.

Easy Survey

It was discovered that 3-4 people did a lot of ballot box stuffing in an attempt to give undue weighting to some of the responses; details can be found on this post. On July 19th, I was able to largely remove the effects of this. A full discusion of my reasons and methods are detailed here.

As a result, I've had to implement a couple rules for the balloting as this goes forward. For the questions below, each IP is allowed only a single vote per every several days. This does make it a little clumsy for housholds or shared computer systems where multiple people may want to weigh in, but as is often the case, the selfishness and arrogance of a few results in limitations on the rest of us.

If you'd like opportunity to give more detailed and thoughful commentary, please visit the forum. If all you're interested in is the summary of the survey questions, click here.

What was your reaction to the photos?
Definite improvement; long overdue
Ugly now, but will be better in the long run
No real reaction either way
I'm saddened, but can accept it
I'm shocked and angered

Just another question, Hope it's relevant here.
Been a while , but as a scout I was lucky enough to go to Sabattis <sp> two years in a row , on the map it looks like it's not too far from Cedarlands. I recall seeing an ash layer in every hole we dug that came from a forest fire in the early 1900's IIRC . Was the Cedarlands area affected by the same fire ?

Just because my wife and I each voted from the same IP , will we also be acused of "ballot stuffing" ????
If we had a couple of children that also wanted to take part in a voting process , should we just have them vote from a friends house or the library ??

Ivory, I think there is a little red boat with a Chinese flag waiting for you at Cedarlands. I'm curious even though you already altered the poll how many times your troop members voted over and over for your views. I think it comes down to the fact that you are more stupid than a 3 dollar bill and that you shouldn't have let the same IP vote more than once. So skewing the poll in your favor when anyone was allowed to vote more than once pretty much voids any point to having a poll and voids any pathetic argument you are trying to make against the scouts.

To the prior poster (Anon) - Actually, I wouldn't give up hope just yet. As a result of these web pages, we know that at least the Council is reacting by engaging in more newsletters and such. The results of the survey also clearly show that the majority of people were unaware of what the was about to happen, and were largely disappointed and bothered by the results. I hold hope that these facts are sobering to not only this Council, but perhaps to others that might considering doing something similar. Despite whatever spin can be put on it, this logging and the public acceptance of it did not go according to plan.

I think that some are hoping/expecting that our interest in what happened will fade away, and that things can get back to normal soon.
